Singing with age

Have you always wished you could sing better but now believe that you're too old to learn to sing? Well good news, you're not too old to start singing and singing at age 80 can be just as fun as singing when you're 8!

Children at the age of 8 or 9 years (and even younger) can be taught the basics of good singing. Of course adjustments will need to be made to avoid straining the voice during puberty. This is something that a good vocal coach can assist with.

On the other end of the scale, adults can benefit from singing training throughout their life to a ripe old age and in fact many people actually sing better as they age. But don't be put off if this is not true in your case. It's perfectly natural to experience a large number of physical changes as we get older. It's inevitable that we will lose both muscle flexibility and strength with age. However, too often we make "age" the culprit – or the excuse, if you will.

Realize that many young people – even kids – also run into voice and other physical problems. The thing is this, sure some things you will never be able to do as well as you once could but you're never too old to enjoy yourself. Irrelevant of age, it's never too late to learn inspiring new skills and feel energised and motivated by the development of a new hobby. It's never too late to learn develop and learn new skills.
