Stuck for ideas for your next holiday? Consider a short break in Wales, espeically if you enjoy your sports -heres a list of actvities to do while your down here.
- Caving - explore the underground passageways and tunnels that Wales has to offer. Caving is done all year round, other than when the heavy rain makes some of them inaccessible. With an expert guide to show you the caves that few people ever get to see youll go into small groups to travel the caves and passageways. A full days caving costs £55, with the pirce of a half day for £35. Can be done in snowdonia, Gower Peninsula and the Brecon Beacons.
- Coasteering. Featuring a combination of climbing, cliff jumping, scrambling and swimming that originated in Wales. Coasteering is most popular during the summer, but later on in the season there may be the chance of swelling to make the experience more challenging and interesting. Placed in groups of between 2-8 people, youll be led along a chosen route by one of our expert guides based of the experience and abilities of the group of between 2-8 people. Places available for coasteering are the Gower Peninsula and the Pembokeshire and Norh Wales coast.
- Surfing- With some great places and waves to go surfing on, Wales should be a place all surfers need to come visit for the waves. Lessons are available for beginners if you've never jumped onto a surf board before. One to one or group lessons are available from the surf schools, which also do 'women only' weekends. Prices for a half day are £20 to £40 for a full day of surfing the waves of Wales. The sea is at its warmest during late summer and early autumn, and most of the surf schools are open from Easter to October, but that doesnt really stop the more experienced surfers going at any time they want to ride the waves. Hit the beach and ride the waves in the Gower and Lleyn Peninsulas, Pembrokeshire, Anglesey and down in South Wales.
- Diving -One of the best places in the UK for diving, Wales has a variety of diving sites from offshore islands, wrecks and Marine nature reserves. A basic course in diving starts from £55 and a 2 day open water dive course begins at £200. Early autumn and late summer would be the best times, when the water temperature at its highest. Diving is available in Anglesey, the Llyn Peninsula, Pembrokeshire and (again,) the Gower Peninsula.
