Entertainment Industry Award Ceremonies Would Not Be Recognizable: The Value Of Grandstands

There is real demand for bleachers in Hollywood, though when many people imagine of bleachers, they are customarily correlated with parks and sports. With award shows and red carpet events happening all over the city at any random time, bleachers are an essential for supporters and reporters to see their favorite celebrities as they do their thing; whether it be a blockbuster movie premier, or a star-studded award ceremony.

At the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, portable bleachers line Hollywood blvd. hours prior to the Academy Awards. They are brought in and organized along the sides of red carpets all across town so that fans can get a decent vantage point of the Hollywood upper class as they make their way to that evening’s event.

With movie premiers happening almost every week and summer blockbusters closely approaching, even though award season is now passed, there is still a real need for bleachers. With big budget films flooding theaters, this summer is a good example. Movies like Captain America, Thor, Green Lantern, and the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise opening in cinemas all within the next couple of months will definitely have media and spectators alike gathering outside these star-studded premiers. The summer months are specifically busy for the City of Angeles with multiple of galas and other events, portable bleachers are an asset to have available in order to accommodate supporters.

Presentation is everything, and a lot of effort goes into coordinating events like these and like most things. You do not just see actors and reporters alone on the red carpet when you tune in to watch the Academy Awards or the Emmys, but you see fans and reporters lining the stands behind them, with flashing lights and cheers that don’t seem to end until after the doors close and the show starts.

Half of the reason why the actors come out in their flowing gowns and pressed suits, is for the spectators; much of Hollywood is about showmanship. The energy is unparalleled, and when they make their way in and out of these events, it is all part of the show. It’s for their audience, the individuals viewing at home, and the crowds of people that gather, sometimes days in advance; in a way, they are performing.

Just like in the world of sports, there is nothing like having your fans come out and cheer you on in person, close enough to interact with, and you wouldn’t think much of it, but bleachers are big piece of the whole experience.
