Medieval Knights Costumes - Dress As A Gallant Knight This Halloween

With Halloween fast approaching, you are probably thinking about your fancy dress costume. Should I go with the pirate outfit, the zombie or the prisoner costume, you wonder. Let's face it, every little boy wanted to wear a suit of armor when they were growing up. It just seemed really fun to be having sword fights, jousting and other knight things, dressed in a full suit of armor. And if you haven't scratched that itch now's the time to get a scratching.

Think of the films, going back since the beginning of the film industry, where the protaganists wear knight costumes or some variation there of. Without thinking about it too deeply, wouldn't you say that Darth Vader wears a knight costume . Even the star troopers wear a form of knights armor. Robocop, Ironman and the Dark Knight are just three instances where armor suits are worn by characters in films.

So what is the attraction ?

For me, it's because you look like another creature in a suit of armor. There is an undeniable curiosity about establishing who lies beneath the steel exterior. And for the wearer, the fascination is when to reveal your true self.

I have always been fascinated by the helmets. The different shapes, how the visor works, whether they were square or round shaped helmets. The visor and the helmet gives you the personality of the knight; it's like the face of the knight and reflects his uniqueness. Plus the color and patterns on the tunic and shield will detail the Knights background and heritage. If the armor is shielding your personality from the outside world, little chinks in the armor are your colors and your helmet.

At the climax of the first film, the predator alien lifts it's helmet from it's face, to truly reveal itself for the first time. It's a big moment in the movie because the hero and the audience see for the first time who they are dealing with. It also signals the end for the predator, as though making this revelation was a strategic flaw or mistake by the creature, even a sign of weakness.
