Jennifer Grey's Life Was Saved Thanks To Dancing With The Stars

ABC introduced the cast list of Dancing with the Stars which is going to start in its 11th season on September 20. Last week, the media leaked that Bristol Palin, "The Situation," David Hasselhoff, Audrina Patridge and Brandy would carve up the dance floor for our weekly leisure. Margaret Cho, Florence Henderson from the "Brady Bunch," Michael Bolton, and Jennifer Grey who's "Baby" from "Dirty Dancing" are all also going to be on the show, says NJ.com. Jennifer Grey is a shoe in to win this season of DWTS. Dancing With the Stars could possibly be the reason her life was saved.

Jennifer Grey got herself into a bad auto accident

Jennifer Grey knows how to dance, but after a car incident a number of years ago, it seemed as if she might never dance again. Grey talked to Zap2It. She explained that she talked to a neurological spine surgeon since she was having really bad pain in her neck. Grey wanted this appointment after listening to the surgeon worked on dancer Karina Smirnoff so she might be able to go on DWTS eventually. Grey had never had the right treatment for the incident that tore ligaments in her neck. The condition ultimately degenerated, to the point where the surgeon told Grey that her spinal cord was compressed. Any blow that caused even a minor shift would cause permanent paralysis. Grey got her neck fused. The doctor told her that she needed to remove a benign nodule.

Jennifer Grey has a new neck and is cancer-free

"Dancing with the Stars" will gladly take her. She will do well. Jennifer Grey may have saved her life with this show thinking about it was the only reason she went through treatment. "I was so frightened of the surgery, I didn't want to even consider that it would be successful. And it was so successful, I proceeded to do everything else on my 'to-do' list that I was afraid of, including doing this show," Grey told Zap2It. "I figure that if I don't do it now, I'll be too old for it. My body is clearly giving out."
