Should Darkseid have his own show? Why is it always just super heroes have shows?

Any Jack Kirby fans?
Do you remember Forever People?
How about Kirby's 'Jimmy Olsen'?

This is a good question. If I remember correctly, the comic book industry has had it's hand's tied regarding how heroes and villians are portrayed.

There was for sometime a clear line between the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys'. Given the generally accepted demographics of the industry's readership, it would have been detrimental to portray the bad guys with qualities that might have appealed to younger readers. The comic book ratings system and it's censorship saw to much of this.

Times change and readers demanded more. Today's younger readers have grown up in an era where the entertainment industry holds little back. This brought in an era of the anti-heroes (with the shades of gray that are more likely representative of qualities in most of us).

I wonder what effect having a villian actually win might have on the industry as a whole. (ex: the bad guys successfully and intelligently make off with the goods, use their powers to misdirect, etc). It is a slippery slope...

I think Darkseid would be an interesting villian to help break this door down since his goals aren't as petty as the goals of many other villians (ex: obsess only over taking down specific heroes).

Other villians, such as Dr. Doom (already extremely popular) would also be ideally suited for such a task. In a world where the acquisition of power is of such great importance, many people can relate to this.

Personally I enjoy the richer (shades of gray) characters (punisher, deadpool, wolverine, black adam, etc..). I think that in the real world, having the powers and abilities these and other characters possess is a battle in itself many of us would face. (It certainly happens daily in the real world...)

Kirby (The King) was a man of immense talents and imagination, though I never read Forever People - much of his other creations/co-creations are certainly a part my main reading.
