Who can I send a copy of my book "THE TRAPDOOR TO HALLOWEEN", for best publicity, to?
My book , THE TRAPDOOR TO HALLOWEEN, is a fun, spooky collection of tales told in rhyme for all ages to enjoy at Halloween or anytime. It covers all spooky aspects from The MUMMY , FRANKENSTEIN and WOLFMAN to HITCHCOCK, UNDEAD PIRATES and ALIENS! What influential person would be best to send a copy to for Halloween to create the best publicity. The book has received many good reviews but requires a boost! Thanks for your help?
Also address if possible?
Nobody.
Look, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But "influential" people really do not care about yet another self-published book. On lulu.com alone, there are 4,000 self-published books produced EACH WEEK!!!! Think about that for a second. FOUR THOUSAND THROUGH ONE PRINTER.
And before you say so, I looked up the title. You published through PublishAmerica. You got a big $1 advance on your "traditional contract". But PA is a scam. They are not a traditional publisher. They publish almost everything submitted to them and do zero marketing. They are worse than a self-publishing printer, because they lock you into a three year contract and then leave all the marketing to YOU. Traditional publishers do the marketing for you. You've got a 121 page book retailing at over $17. You are way priced out of market.
Your best bet is to get a lawyer and try to get out of the contract with PA. Then try to submit your work to a legitimate small press that will properly take care of you. Your publisher, not you, should responsible for getting book reviews, generating publicity, and promoting your book.
Frankenstein, Godzilla, The Wolfman... in MONSTER MARATHON!
