I Never Understood The Attractions Of Paintball Untill I Tried It

I have never wanted to hurt anybody and I certainly never wanted to shoot someone so I found the idea of paintball a little strange. A couple of the guys I work with are regular paintballers and they go off most weekends to fire pellets of paint at people they hardly know. I never could understand why grown men would want to run around in the woods playing at being soldiers while they dodged paintballs flying through the air.

I knew I had nothing planned for the following weekend so when they invited me to join them I decided to gve it a try. I wasn't feeling too brave when we left town to go to the paintball site and I was wondering what I had let myself in for.

Next day I awoke to get some instruction and borrow some paintball equipment which was all explained to me fairly quickly and I was told the most important rule is never to remove your face mask while in the fighting area. Next I was shown how to operate a simple paintball gun and the we were off to my first paintball fight. I got hit by a pellet of pink paint almost as soon as I got there. I never even got to see who it was that shot me and I realised I had a lot to learn about paintballing.

It was such an enjoyable time I had that weekend. I was shot so many times but I had a terrific weekend and managed to hit a few of the guys with splashes of paint. I expect you are wondering how much it hurts when you get shot with a paintball and I must confess it can hurt but most times the protective clothing takes the sting out of it and to be honest you only notice a bruise after you finish playing.

You might guess I am now a regular paintball player and most weekends you will find me out in the woods with my cheap paintball gun. I started out with some cheap gear but I am slowly improving the quality of the paintball gear I own but you don't have to spend a lot of money and you can still have a great time with some cheap paintball gear.
