Guitar electricians, I need your help!!!?

I currently am trying to wire my dual humbucker, 1 vol, 2 tone, 3 way switch setup as parallel. Atm I believe they are wired in series and both the bridge and neck are way too hot (SD invaders X_X)

I have tried looking for a schematic for strictly a parallel wiring setup, however I haven't been able to find any that clearly state it's only for parallel wiring. They all end up saying that its for a series/parallel/coil-tap setup.

If this is the case, is it an absolute necessity to have a push/pull knob if I want to be able to wire in parallel???

I believe you are getting mixed up on the whole parallel/series thing. The term parallel/series is referring to each individual pickup. A four conductor pickup has the ability to be run in series or parallel or coil tapped BY ITSELF. A humbucker pickup is essentially 2 single coil pickups. The 4 leads are actually the hot and ground wire of each single coil. (each coil has a single hot and negative.) The term "series" refers to the wiring of one of the hot leads to the next coils negative lead. Parallel is the wiring of both hot leads to the same point and both negative leads to the same point. Coil tapping is simply using only one of the coils as a standard single coil pickup. Series wiring is the most common way to set up a dual coil pickup. This is true humbucking operation and gives a much fuller and more powerful sound. Setting up a dual coil pickup to run parallel can cause problems of phase cancellation and is usually a weaker output. The push-pull switch is usually set up to allow for standard humbucking or single coil (coil tap) useage from each pickup.

The three way switch itself allows you to chose between the bridge pickup OR the neck pickup OR both pickups. When both pickups are selected they are running in PARALLEL.
So the push-pull switch is for running that specific pickup is series or coil tap mode. The three way switch is for choosing a pickup or running both pickups in parallel.

I hope this clears up your confusion. The schematic that you have provided shows each of the pickups wired for humbucking only mode (this means that each pickup itself is wired in series to itself) Both of the pickups are then wired in parallel to the three way switch via each pickups tone control. The switch then runs to the volume and then to the output.

If you wish to use a push-pull tone control on each pickup, you will need to get a schematic from Seymour Duncan to show you exactly how to wire each pickup to be able to switch from standard humbucking mode (series) to single coil mode (coil tap).

This will not change the three way switch function which allows for either pickup or both running together (parallel)
